I asked my stylist why this was so and she asked me what kind of blow dryer I was using and then recommended this one to me. Well I am a total believer, even though the price was way more than the $20.00 I usually pay for a blow dryer, but it was worth every penny. Discount farouk chiI absolutely love this stuff. I would recommend this to any person that has frizz. It makes my hair feel so silky smoothe. I started using it about 2 months ago and cannot stand to go without it. Just use a little because it can make your hair look oily if you use too much and don't put it close to the scalp either for the same reason. I tried the Chi Silk Infusion because I thought they would be the same since they are both made by Farouk but the Chi is not nearly as good. I would give this 100 stars I could.

Discount farouk chiI really enjoyed my Nano CHI iron while it lasted (RIP 7/06-11/06), it handles well, it's a great straightener, and it's a pretty color. However, I dropped it approximately two feet, onto a carpeted floor, and it stopped working. I purchased the CHI about four months ago and think that a $120 iron should be a bit more resiliant. I'll still purchase CHI products, but wouldn't recommend investing in the Nano Technology just yet...there are a few kinks that still need to be worked out, and it's not worth having to pay an extra $35 to have it repaired. This review is from: CHI Turbo Auto Digital Ceramic Spring Curling Iron 1 1/2" 1 ea (Misc.) I am by no means a hairstyling guru, but this product is easy and comfortable to use. It is quite large in size, complete with a comfort grip handle, so I don't expect those who travel lightly like I do to be packing it along for excursions. The temperature control is a definite asset, and ranges from 200-400 F. I typically set my iron to 400 F, a temperature reached in about two to three minutes -- no complaints! The tool maintains its heat evenly so that curls are uniform. I haven't encountered any problems with heat damage to my hair, either, although I do not curl my hair more than twice weekly. The one problem I do face when using this CHI curling iron is that the results do not last terribly long -- usually not more than six to eight hours (and consequently not overnight). I have thick, moderately straight hair that falls a few inches below the shoulder. This iron may in fact be better for someone with longer hair. If I were to complete this transaction over again, I would have bought the 1" iron because the large diameter of the 1 1/2" curling iron does not create many ringlets due to the fact that my hair is not very long (i.e. at or below my shoulder blades). I would certainly recommend this product to others, however, because of its ease, heat retention, and (I hope) durability. Discount farouk chi

However, when it was first used, the CHI did not maintain temperature and a defective switch was detected. After contacting AM Health & Beauty on a Sunday, they replied within a couple of hours and offered to refund or replace the tool. As we just wanted a replacement, they offered to ship us a new one and enclose a return label so we would not have to pay to return the defective product! Something that is almost unheard of these days. I am very impressed by the service of AM Health & Beauty Service and would recommend them as a preferred dealer!

My hair always looks better after she styles it--and I use the same shampoo and brush that she does--that meant it was time to invest in the dryer. The dryer is pretty quiet and light. Seems like it is made well enough--must be since my stylist has been using it everyday (multiple times) for more than 3 years. I looked at upgrading since there are newer CHI's out there--but this one was cheaper and I knew for sure that it would do a good job. I don't regret not getting one of their fancier more powerful models--I'm not trying to fry my hair, just dry and shape it. After my other professional hairdryer died (did a good job--but got crushed in an accident), I began using a $20 cheapie--what a mistake. When people tell you that all hairdryers are the same, it is because they don't really know. My research has indicated that CHI is only brand on the market with full ceramic components--not just ceramic coated. Discount farouk chi was suspect of the need for "ceramic ions" and "far infrared technology", but this iron was highly recommended by salon personnel, so I decided to dish out the money and try it. You don't need to believe the hype to realize that this is a top quality product. This was a case of "you get what you pay for"! It is lightweight and ergonomic, heats up almost immediately, has a slider bar for varying heat from 176-356F (80-180C), and velvety felt that protects you from burns (also allows me to get closer to my ears and scalp without getting burned). The latter feature is worth the money to me alone, and the the ceramic feels much gentler to my hair (I have baby fine hair very prone to breakage). Two other things to keep in mind when choosing a straightener: 1) size matters - smaller size is better - it's more maneuverable, and doing smaller sections at a time will produce better results. for superfine hair, I recommend the 0.7" (mistakenly advertised as 0.07") 2) not all ceramic is created equal - there are solid ceramic plates or plates COATED with ceramic that are cheaper. the ceramic layer on the coated plates can peel off and is supposedly damaging to your hair (not to mention your product is ruined). so yes, this iron is more expensive, but hopefully it will last for years of top-notch straightening.
